Our Short Mat Bowls Club (known for some reason as “The Hawks”) is the longest-running club in Llangennith.

The Club is entirely inclusive: young, old, male, female, and physically challenged, all take part, dispelling the perception that Bowls is only for the elderly! We even have members who have played internationally for Wales.

We play in a spirit of healthy competition against each other, and committed personal challenge, and enjoy the game and the social aspects of coming-together on such a regular basis. We often arrange “friendly” matches against local Gower villages, and with new members joining recently and strengthening our Club, it is our aim to work towards playing in the Swansea League again.

We are a sociable Club and offer a warm welcome to those from surrounding Gower villages, and to visitors to the village who’d like to drop in for a game or simply to watch the action.
