Film Club

The Llangennith Film Club as we have known it for just over 20 years is now finishing

Wayne, our ever patient and so experienced projectionist is retiring, and there is no one else in The Community Cinema Group to take his place.

So we have decided to leave too, and would like to hand it over to others in the village who would like to do something for the community and who could take it in a different direction.

“Monsoon Wedding” was one of our first showings in May 2003 and “The Great Escaper” the last one in Jan 2024. 

Running the Film Club has been great fun and I look forward to seeing it reincarnated in some way. If you are interested in doing this please contact me on 01792 386214.

My thanks go to Rosie, Ruth and Judith who set up and ran the Film Club with me  in those far off days of 2003!

Many many thanks go to all those who helped in differing ways; washing glasses, putting chairs away, carrying out all the equipment and of course coming to watch the films!

Also to Alun who always came up with the info on the posters and always on time, even when I’d forgotten!

Of course huge thanks to Wayne, without whom it wouldn’t have been possible.  We send him all best wishes for a healthy retirement.
