It’s been called a hidden gem, but we don’t want to keep it a secret. Adjacent to our Hall is wonderful community asset – a playground and loved field providing a safe, green space where village children, residents and visitors, can come together to play, to picnic, to join in community events and share the spectacular setting.

With thanks to a grant from ‘Big Lottery People and Places’, the former unkempt field at the side of the Hall was transformed into the fabulous secluded and convenient space we have today, right in the heart of the village.

At the bottom of the now lovingly-tended field is a large level area suitable for a wide range of sports and community events, and has wooden picnic tables and seating in situ. The centre section of the field boasts wooden play equipment sympathetic to the natural surroundings and importantly, is a safe space for children and young people to play. The top section remains gently sloping and lends itself to more informal activity.

Since the transformation of the area, it has opened up opportunities to come together for a whole host of community events including our annual Easter Egg Hunt and a Walking Rugby competition when we welcomed ex-Wales and British Lion, JPR Williams.

Our field and playground is very special to us and despite it being in the hub of the village, it is a peaceful and restorative space with spectacular views of Rhossili Down, the village church and to the sea beyond.

It is also an accessible space, suitable for those with disability, and for those with pushchairs, to reach the playground and field along the path beside the Hall. Toilet facilities are also available at the rear of the building.

This is your space to discover, use and enjoy. Its possibilities are endless. The only thing we politely ask is consideration of neighbours in relation to noise and light and therefore the playground and field is not be used after 9pm.

We are so lucky to have this great, safe community space – right in the village.
